The monumental complex of Sant Genís de Rocafort is located on top of a rocky hill situated on the northwestern slope of the Sierra of Ataix southwest of the city of Martorell between the torrents of Rocafort and Santa Margarita.
The access path to the Monumental Complex is about 700 m long towards east with almost 120 m high, narrow and steep in some sections, which prevents the access by vehicle.
The project has two distinct areas of activity. On the one hand it aims to improve the existing access path to the monument; and on the other the monumental complex to ensure the structural stability, as well as rehabilitation – consolidation of the different structures and visible elements. Must be guaranteed secure access of both people and equipment and material to the work. This access should be considered suitable for the traffic of vehicles, small size, type Dumper or equivalent, which allow loading work material from the road at the base of the monument.
The work on the monument is basically to rehabilitate it and consolidate it structurally, in order to mitigate the degradation and deterioration that is subjected.
