The project arises from the geometric and the functional simplicity, the effectiveness of dry industrial systems, and a rigorous approach to the facilities in the aspect of energy efficiency.
This is a friendly school that encourages the domestic and family treatment among children and teachers. The flat and quiet buildings sit naturally on the ground. Its clean form is the reflection of the clarity of its role: they are the platform for teaching activities.
The building consists of a 3-stories main body and a 1-storey secondary body with own access, which is parallel to the main building: the gym and locker rooms are proposed as independent volume, parallel to the main building and in direct contact to the outdoor playground.
All outdoor playgrounds are well oriented and related to the green area adjacent to Riera de Cervelló. In fact the forest extends into the school so that children could appreciate the values of nature and freedom during their spare playing time.
