Three white buildings are located in an intermediate position between the countryside and the urban fabric of Reus. These buildings create a space of relationship between the tenants of the new housing. The simple volume and the white color give a serene and Mediterranean character to the new building. The construction methods are very simple and require no special efforts or technology.
The 98 apartments have 50 m² and are accessible by a corridor which is open to the outside and have a small patio- garden or terrace. All dwellings have the dual facades and the cross ventilation. The building has a great thermal inertia due to its construction by load bearing walls. The cladding and finishing of the facade function also as the building insulation. Natural ventilation and double orientation of the housing enable to have sunlight during the day and there is no need for artificial lighting. The housing block is equipped with solar panels on the roof for hot water supply and the construction has been made from biodegradable and recyclable materials.
